Playground surprise

I was a good momma and took Naomi to the playground on Friday (she doesn’t start school until Monday). After an hour, she found something cool—
This not-so-little guy was just a couple  yards away from the merry go round. I figured I’d better stand guard and make sure no little kids got close. After a while, he slithered over to another tree.
And climbed up a few feet.

After a long wait, he went back down, went under a picnic table, and finally climbed a third tree and disappeared into a hole in the trunk about 12 feet above the ground.

By this time I was starving and glad I could abandon “snake guarding” duty. Naomi loved playing at the playground for such a long time!

Idaho

Both families had their reunions in Idaho this year. Although we were just there in June, we wanted to go back. Thankfully, we were able- despite the fact that we had to cram all five of us into Rusty’s Impreza. Three days of driving, each way, shoulder to shoulder. Thank goodness for ipads, ipods, etc.
We installed Nate’s custom headstone- it turned out amazingly beautiful.
The kids loooved the aquarium in Idaho Falls.

McCall with the extended Case clan was loads of fun!  And of course the lake was beautiful. The weather and water were amazingly warm (for northern Idaho).
Hyrum was the first to spot this frog hidden under a board in the sidewalk next to the pool.
This playground in Rigby is the coolest!
We also floated down a lazy river with the Earls and had other fun adventures- but I didn’t think to take photos. I’ve never gotten into the habit of carrying my phone and documenting everything, sorry!

We reluctantly raced home in time to start school. What a good end to our summer.
